ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The conference is organized within the ESF project PAZI! (Practical-Active-Together-Interdisciplinary! - Service-Learning Programs for Environment and Sustainable Development). The Conference aims to exchange existing knowledge and experience on the implementation of service learning as well as connecting programs and actors of service-learning programs in Croatia. A total of 60 participants are expected to participate. Within the two-day Conference project Partner Organizations will share their knowledge regarding the current implementation of the SL programs as well as the results of the evaluation of the implementation of these programs. Students who have been involved in the SL programs will also present their experiences. Handbook on Service-Learning, developed through the project "Students Learning Active Citizenship - a Service-Learning Program for Environmental Protection and Nature Conservation - a Project of Cooperation between Germany and Croatia", will be distributed at the Conference with other promotional materials developed within the project . As a result of the Conference, the Proceedings will be produced in a printed (100 pieces) and electronic version, which will be distributed to the Conference participants and to the end users of the project.

SPEAKERS
Dr. Imke-Marie Badur
Since 2011 coordinator for Service-Learning and Social Engagement at the University of Kassel. From 2013 to 2017 she has been managing director of the Hochschulnetzwerk Bildung durch Verantwortung e.V. (Higher Education Network Education through Responsibility). Mrs. Badur has extensive experience in implementation of service-learning in all faculties of the University of Kassel (approx. 25 subject-integrated courses per semester), consulting and support of teachers, development of cooperation, implementation of numerous university didactic workshops and lectures on Service-Learning at German universities.
Karsten Altenschmidt. M.A.
Since 2013 co-heading the center for societal learning and social responsibility (UNIAKTIV) and coordinator for service-learning at the Universität Duisburg-Essen (UDE). Since 2007 he has been contributing to the development of Campus-Community-Partnership-Center UNIAKTIV, mainly working on (and teaching) service-learning, Community-based Research, Design thinking and other forms of connecting student civic engagement to university teaching & research. He is (co)author of several articles and one monograph on Campus-Community-Partnerships and Service learning and co-edited works on service-learning across the institution, Service learning in Philosophy as well as Community-based Research.
Dr. Sc. Bojana Ćulum
Bojana Ćulum is employed as an full professor at the Department of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Rijeka. Her main scientific and research interests include the area of higher education and civil society, especially the third and civilian mission of the university, the engaged university, the area of pedagogy of youth work, volunteering, school volunteer programs and civic education. Since 2005, she has been working on a community-based learning model and has so far collaborated with a number of local civil society organizations, educational institutions, health and social welfare institutions, and local and regional self-government. She is currently the head of the five-year research project "Formal Education in the Function of Sustainable Development", funded by the Croatian Foundation for Science
